 | We have to sadly report the recent passing of Keith
Longhurst. Keith was a founder member of Maldon Borough Table Tennis club
which was formed in 1971 so his association with the Burnham league
spanned well over 35 years at least. In recent years he ran their team,
and whilst not able to compete in singles play he always featured in the
doubles. The funeral will take place at Hatfield Peveral church at 11am on
Tuesday 30th June. |
| The South Woodham club have practice sessions every Thursday
throughout the summer at Champions Manor Hall from 8.30pm to 10pm for
senior/league (cost £2 all welcome) players preceded by Junior Coaching
6.30 - 7.30 for beginners 7.30 - 8.30 for intermediate again newcomers are
welcome. |
| The quiz night run held on Saturday 21st February was very well
supported with 17 teams taking part (thank you to everyone who supported
the event) and thanks to the work of Tim Stubbings, who organised the
event, quiz master Kevin Briggs and everyone who donated a raffle prize
the night raised over £350 for league funds. |
